Join TCM for “Trailblazing Women: Actresses Who Made a Difference,” a showcase of films starring actresses who not only worked to make great films, but also to make the world a better place.

Our spotlight kicked off October 4 with an evening of films by business mavericks like Mary Pickford and Lucille Ball.

This is the second year of a three-year Trailblazing Women programming initiative, a partnership between TCM and Women In Film Los Angeles. The initiative aims to raise awareness of the historical contributions of women working in the film industry and to shine a light on their current underrepresentation in positions of power within the business.

In 2016, we’ll focus on stars from Olivia de Havilland to Marlene Dietrich, with introductions and conversations featuring series host Illeana Douglas and numerous co-hosts, including famous star/activists like Jane Fonda and author/filmmakers like Cari Beauchamp. We’ll have guests live-tweeting films from our Twitter account every week. During week one, Nora Fiore live-tweeted Little Annie Roonie, and our host Illeana Douglas  live-tweeted The Prince and the Showgirl. Return to this page or follow us on Twitter to learn about future live-tweets.

We hope you’ll join us every Tuesday and Thursday in October for 40 great films featuring trailblazers with star power.
